The Coaching Process
The coaching journey is based on a partnership between you and your coach. Aside from what you and your coach might discuss in any given session, the structure will follow this general 4 phase format. Each coach will have designed their own process but the information below will give you and idea of the non-negotiables.
1
Chemistry Call
It's standard practice to have a FREE call before committing to work with a coach. It is an opportunity to assess compatibility as a good fit is essential for success.
The aim of this call is:

-
To build trust and rapport
-
To see if you would be a good fit to work together and values align
-
To discuss current goals and challenges
-
To learn about what the coach offers and how the coach works
-
To lean about the coaches process

Booking a chemistry call gives you the chance to meet with a few coaches & choose one you connect with and feel safe with.
3
Coaching Sessions
After you have created a contract, you will move into working on your desired outcomes.

-
You will choose the session focus, not your coach
-
If you stuck, the coach will partner you to determine what is important to you
-
The coach will ask questions and challenge you
-
The coach my offer examples for inspiration
-
The coach may make suggestions

The coaching session is a collaborative conversation space. It is not instructive.
2
Contracting Session
After you have selected a coach, you will have a session to decide how you are going to work together. It establishes a clear foundation for the professional relationship.

This involves discussing:

-
Confidentiality
-
Clarity of expectations
-
Creating an environment for open communication from both sides
-
Getting clear on what you would like to achieve through the coaching journey
-
Managing conflict or disputes

This is possibly the most important session of the whole coaching process and it enhances the overall coaching experience.
4
Closing Session
When you are ready to end the coaching relationship, a closing session will enable you to reflect on the journey you have been on.

-
Look at the knowledge you have gained
-
Reflect on what you have learned about yourself
-
Measure how far you have come
-
Celebrate progress & developments
-
Define how you intend to maintain this going forward

There is huge value in having this time to savour all the work you have done and set the stage for your continued growth.
Health
Insurance
Claiming Rebates
Some providers may offer reimbursement on coaching services. It will depend on your provider, the type of policy you have, and what cover is included.

We recommend contacting your provider anyway, as the demand for coaching being recognised may increase the probability of cover in the future.
Coaching Fees
For a trained and certified coach, the cost of coaching can range from €80 to €300 per session, depending on the coach's level of training, experience and credentials.

If you are concerned about financial obstacles when considering coaching, we recommend discussing this with the coach. Often, coaches have flexible payment options, sliding scales or reduced rates available.
We understand that everyone's situation is unique. Your personal growth is important, coaches are there to support you on your journey, no matter your financial circumstances. We believe that ADHD coaching should be accessible to those who need it, and not be out of your financial reach.

Your coach will likely be self-employed and a sole trader. Being a self-employed coach is expensive with regular professional development, supervision, and memberships.

Refunds
Ask your coach about their refund and contract cancelation policy. Know what options you have if you decide to not continue with coaching or if it is not a right fit.
